Are you writing this from the perspective of having been a digital nomad yourself? I’m curious, because if you haven’t, you have an awful lot of opinions for someone with no real life experience on the topic. As a freelancer, I left my corporate position because I knew I could make more money, not because I was in dire economic circumstances. It wasn’t out of desperation and I certainly have “daily physical contact with friends and family, a loving and supportive community, a home of my own, and the general feeling of security that comes from a stable life.” It appears you are seriously misguided. If you have been a digital nomad, my apologizes that the experience was so tragic.
