Finding Our Way in the Dark

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” — MLK Jr.

Over the last week I’ve read and heard many people say that Donald Trump is not the way forward. As a divine being having a human (and female) experience, I agree. However, spiritually I do not.

From a spiritual perspective, a core tenant of believing in a higher power is recognizing that everything happens for a reason. If that is true, and I believe it is, then Donald Trump is exactly the way forward. Donald Trump is our gift.

Our country is deeply divided, and no single person in recent history has illuminated this truth more so than he. By all definitions Donald Trump is a light-bearer; however it is not in a way that feels comfortable to most. Subsequently, it is not in a way that many of us want.

From the vantage point of the collective, history is repeating itself for a reason. There is something we still need to learn here. Issues of the past are still lingering and it means there is more work to be done. There is more love to harness and more love to give, both to ourselves and others.

This is uncomfortable, yes, but remember that our greatest moments of growth come from exactly these times. In fact, this is how each one of us enters this world. We are removed from a place of safety and placed into the light. Growth is not optional.

Do I want Donald Trump to be our President? I do not. But do I think he will create change? I do. Donald Trump will initiate what I trust to be the single greatest uprising of individuals seeking peaceful change in our history. As a reminder, we are already 60 million and counting.

To conclude, Donald Trump is a call to action from a power far greater than us. For those of us who know love, we are being asked to step forward and share it. We are being asked to do something, even if we don’t know what it is yet. Most importantly, we are being asked to honor the dark and the light.

Darkness need not be feared; rather, darkness is just a degree of light. And dawn always comes after the dark.

So today and any day when you need to, honor the dark. Feel it. Allow it. Get comfortable with it. It is nothing to be afraid of, which is exactly what you’d tell a child right before you turn off the light.

Sending love today, for the highest good of all concerned. I invite and encourage you to share this post if you believe it would make a difference.

Be great. I love you.
