Like your Dad, I had the opportunity to hear Trump in person when he came to Baltimore. It cost me $100, as that was the minimum fee to attend. Those who spent more, got to attend a VIP reception, but I just wanted to see the man in person, rather than the often questionably-edited newsclips we see on both electronic and print media. Sadly, he was as he appeared on TV, all bluster and no real solutions, at least not any he was willing to divulge.

I am an independent conservative, but voted mostly Democrat until Clinton’s second term; but I would only vote for Trump if Hillary Clinton is the Democrat alternative. I’m hoping between now and the Republican convention, another viable candidate starts winning the primaries. Unfortunately, if a plausible independent, third party candidate also runs, he/she will only result in another 4–8 years of Democrat Party leadership.

I haven’t felt this despondent since the Nixon years.
