Next to my own 5008 Wesley Street, that house on Park Street was my favorite house in Greenville. It was so elegant. It was two (!) stories. And it was so civilized, with the parents downstairs and the kids left to their own devices upstairs. And those parents, along with the ever-present Ossie, were always welcoming, although they must have sometimes wished that the parade would pass them by for a while. I didn’t live near enough to come over and play in the porch-sliding era, but I have treasured memories of hanging out there, spending the night, trading clothes, and painting your Mustang with daisies and peace symbols. I believe that the last time I was there was for your and Jim’s wedding reception oh-so-long ago. I hope that it remains in the family and that some day that I’ll get to go back.
