Was it the right thing to do ?
Do you always find yourself asking this question ? Do you want to stop asking it ? Do you have some regrets because of a decision you made ? if you answered yes to all these questions… (Sounds like an ad right ?! Haha)
I found myself asking these questions all the time. Literally. I figured that I’m not the only one, so come on join me and let’s have a little chat about it.
Let’s define what’s right and wrong :
Right: Morally good, justified, or acceptable.
Wrong: Not correct or true.

Clearly a question arises here; You may say : Literally, I understand but .. According to what ? My own beliefs ? The society rules ? Religion ?
It depends on what you’re dealing with.
Before I dive into the subject I want you to know that I’m primarily addressing two questions :
- How to do the right thing?
- How to deal with the aftermath ?
Ready to dive ? Go.
How to do the right thing ?
Such a simple a question yet no one will ever give you a definitive answer but that doesn’t mean we can’t try to find one!
First, Ask yourself : Who will benefit from this decision ? Will it be you or X ? Don’t be selfish.
Second, You have to decide what to use.. Will it be your heart ? your gut ? your brain ? or your instincts ? From experience, I highly recommend you that if it is a human-related thing (non-professional relationship) you can almost always trust your gut. Sometimes, you’ll over-analyze it or overthink it know that it’s totally fine but don’t let it eat you, don’t let it paralyze you.
Third, as stated in this TED Talk just do it.
How to deal with the aftermath ?
Accept it. Learn from it.
You know what ? Truth is, nobody is qualified to tell you what’s right or wrong , they may advise you, guide you but that’s about it. Do whatever you think is best — not right nor wrong — Only time will tell you; Sometimes you will want to bang your head against a wall, sometimes you’ll feel like you betrayed yourself, sometimes you’ll feel like shit ! Sometimes you’ll feel like if you don’t make the right decision your life will be over. Don’t worry it won’t. I wish I could tell you it will get easier, it doesn’t. But you know what ? Regrets, Deceptions, Mistakes, Imperfections .. So embrace them, embrace the pain, embrace the failure, embrace the regrets because these things are the things that make you who you are.
