Onyx is a coarse-grained metamorphic stone that can come in a variety of colors, including pink, white, yellow, brown, green, or black.

In most cases, when onyx is forming, other minerals can penetrate the limestone mass and give it different colors and textures. Iron oxide can form yellow and brown deposits, while iron and feldspar can form pink and red.
