Hacking the Facebook Newsfeed Algorithm: 5 Ways to Recover Organic Reach

The great Larry Kim mentioned post engagement ads — which are a solid play and a better buy than boost posts. One tactic you can include that’s similar to #3, (and I think worth pursuing here if you’re worried about reach) is that as long as your page is above a certain size, you can target a post promo back into the audience of your page.

A micro-spend (like 5$) goes alot further doing this, because the people you’re advertising to already have a relationship with your brand.

I encourage people to think of organic reach as a free post testing budget, and to use this trick on posts that high performing. If there’s good organic reach engagement, promote the post into the full page. If there’s good engagement when you do that, promote the same post into a wider universe like a broad target.

Your content should play a lot better than if you had just promoted to the wider universe in the first place because it’ll have engagement and reactions (social proof) already — and you won’t be competing as hard.
