Spending a lot of time on Slack lately? Us too. We didn’t plan on releasing our Slack App during a pandemic, but here we are…online, together.

Before all this started, the pitch went something like this: “Ever worked at a company that used a home-baked karma bot that kinda sucked? Well, we’ve got something for you!”

Now the pitch goes more like: “We could all use better tools to improve our new work-online lifestyle, and here is our humble contribution.”

So here it is: KarmaChest, a micro gratitude system for Slack. In essence, it’s a karma bot with wings.

KarmaChest has several web-based components like graphical dashboards that allow users to track their progress and get acquainted with their teammates.

It also has several gamification features, such as profile leveling and giving streaks. If you’re not into that sort of thing, cool, just disable them. The system is built with flexibility in mind so each team can configure it the way they want.

It’s tightly integrated with Slack so there are multiple ways to give karma, including emoji reactions and user-assistive modals.

Of course, you can always send the familiar “@user ++” message in public channels where the bot is present. It works for user groups and channels too!

You can learn more about the app at karmachest.com/features. Try one month free, the signup process takes less than a minute and requires no payment method to get started. We’re currently in open beta and would love your feedback.

Stay safe, stay physically distant, but try to stay close too.
