In Mike’s Words…

Wood stokes fire, the fire that has kept us, the human race, warm for millennia. It is the bonfires in the woods that have let the humans gather around to sing, eat, drink, and sleep; it is the dance of the cracking sparks in the fireplace that has kept families cozy on long winter nights.
But fire is also the flame: the crimson flame of life. At times, it shines brightly when our energy is high and the passion for life is palpable. At times it is flickering, ready to extinguish itself at any moment, only to build up momentum at the last moment. And at times, the flame is stable — not too strong, not too weak, just ideal. Although if it remains in the ideal position for too long, it may shine out of habit, as a matter of fact, as a matter of routine. And this is not so desirable. As humans, we need the flame to fluctuate.
And the flame of passion is one of those types of flames that burn the strongest. It is vibrant red and it is unstoppable. It claims its victims, or in case of a happy outcome, its lucky bystanders who suddenly find themselves swept up in its heat and its irresistibly red hue.
For how does one fall head over heels in love? Well, of course, one does not plan that, and yet, the circumstances conspire against us, or work for us, depending on how you look at it. And, before you know it, gods and goddesses of fate, luck, fortune, love, and passion…
