Male Versus Female Enrolment in Majors

There is a significant difference between the number of men and women in the communications disorders major as well as other majors in the health and science department such as nursing and social work. According to the SCSU Factbook, in the communications disorders major, there were 262 females and 21 males enrolled in the Fall 2015 semester and Social Work had 482 females and 65 males enrolled that same semester. Majors in other departments seem to have a more even distribution. For example, the communications department had an enrolment of 134 males and147 females in the Fall 2015 semester.
