Fourteen Incredible Memoirs about Mental Illness and Addiction
Rachel Steinman

Thank you for the recommended reading list, which I am going to share with my writer’s group (and also purchase a few on the list). I have been developing my own list for care takers of those with mental illness, and I would like to also recommend “No One Cares About Crazy People” by Robert Powers, American Psychosis by Dr. E. Fuller Torrey and Insane Consequences by DJ Jaffe. These books focus on serious mental illness, including schizophrenia, as well as what has transpired historically in the world of medicine and politics — and why life is still so incredibly painful for those with mental illness and their families.
