Chapter -1
A lot has been discussed in the press about the amiable (friendly) and also the hostile outcomes, advantages and disadvantages of nuclear technology. While the nuclear energy program has been regarded as a possible and widely popular sustainable energy model, there has been intense activism about nuclear non-proliferation (or rather disarmament of nuclear missiles). The former has re-surfaced since the latter caught wind during the Cold War.
While one of the statements made by the then President Reagan and his Russian counterpart has been about the non-proliferation of a certain kind of nuclear missiles, since then a batch of categorically similar annihilators were supposedly disarmed and a whole new sets have been inducted due to raising tensions in Asian continent.
Some of the dictatorial countries such as North Korea and its reprobate (a person without morals who is disapproved of) leader have used their missile program to counter the imposed sanctions on his territory. The international sanctions have been indicted (charge/ accuse of wrong doing) so as to bring to light the possible harassment and violation of human rights by the rulers on the people. As a protest, the political and military policies have hounded (pursued relentlessly) nuclear missile technology as a means to expose their powerful military foot-print.
While some of the content available on the internet and affiliated travel guides have exposed the citizens as affable (easy to talk to) there are numerous incidents where citizens of other countries have been put behind bars for violating the policies and norms put up by the ruler.
It’s thoroughly evident that the ruler has summoned his nation to work towards equipping their country with long range nuclear arms in a slapdash manner (carelessly and hastily put together) but there are equally terrifying reports that the country has inducted an alarming package of defense and attack equipment from China; however, China has denied any recent defense transaction w/ the reprobate adversaries.
It would be Utopian (extremely ideal) to consider that no such ordeal could have possibly been committed, but the lack of proper confirmation and intelligence regarding the voracious (very hungry; approaching an activity with gusto) Chinese activities; it would be unwise to dis-regard the possibilities especially considering the reprimanding (harsh) bilateral circumstances between the Western world (& allies) regarding the South China military base (an establishment supposedly in international waters).
The North Korean leader in his addresses recently has erratically (unpredictable, strange and unconventional) accused the South Korean counterparts for their intolerance & indignancy (feeling anger over a perceived injustice) towards his people and has advised them (& their respective allies) against any such actions in the future by opening up possibilities of war and nuclear threats.
But, at an extent it appears that the forlorn (deserted) leader has been pining (yearning for) his lost respect internationally; without confessing his inhumane rulings over his country people and considering the possibilities of correcting his projected errs (to make an error). He has also been known to provide a stipend (regular allowance) to international promoters of his regime. The nature of the reverberating tone of their tourism campaign amongst these promoters has been mesmerizing (to spellbind or enthrall).
Also the country has been projected as an affluent (wealthy) keeper of cultural and human values; disregarding and condemning the global inflammatory (incendiary/ extremely controversial) criticism about the harsh ordeal of the North Koreans.
All that can be confirmed is that the haughty leader is inching towards the pinnacle (the highest point) of nuclear armament by considering such possibilities as an acme (highest point of achievement).
It is known that China has been an importer of the North’s mineral resources, and a chief exporter of fuel to the latter.
The trade deal is about $2.5 billion, thus underwriting (undergriding financially/ to support financially) the government in Democratic People’s republic of Korea. If not for the legal trade of the natural mineral reources the country may have been insolvent (unable to pay one’s bills/ bankrupt) let alone consider the possibilities of rising a nuclear arsenal.
Post the recent UNSC sanctions in the March of 2016, reports have surfaced of the adversaries fourth nuclear tests. And a speech of the dictator to his workers that the country has progressed under his rule and has established itself as a feared military power, and reiteratin their screed (an abusive rant) against the sanctions and western powers.
It appears that Kim has kept up with his the country’s patriarchal ruling and could possibly induct vindictive (to have a very strong desire for revenge) groups.
The US, post the outcomes of the Iraq war, has reportedly kept calm about the possibilities of confrontations w/ adversaries, in a move to curb the banter of the adversaries. The Obama administration’s publicly explicit remiss (to be negligent in one’s duty) regarding the North Korea’s developments seem to follow a similar strategy instead of the prompting the latter by televising the former's self proclaimed capabilities.
But one of the recent failed North Korean show of power seems to have unnerved (upset/ to make nervous) post the former’s underground nuclear tests in 2006.
China, which has been loath (unresponsive/ reluctant) about the adversary’s acts of violation of human rights, has singed an agreement w/ the US to impose a new set of harsher sanctions on the North. However, the miserly attitude portrayed by the US government seems to trouble its Military Generals who have increasingly pined for stringent military action and surveillance. The recent reports surfacing from the pictures and videos, are reportedly indigenous (originating in a certain area) to North Koreans themselves in retrospect to insider intelligence.
The bleak (having a depressing or gloomy outlook) human condition of the country based on consistent secretive journalism is a cause of higher concern to the UN and the US which had laid severe emphasis on the same. While the North Korea’s propaganda inundates (to flood or overwhelm) a remarkable human condition and spirit, the remiss of the country’s ruler to care for the nutrition of the growing children has been of profound concern globally.
May be the macabre (suggesting the horror of death and decay, and gruesome) of nuclear confrontation doesn’t seem to be of concern for the ruthless ruler, but the sanctions do seem to revitalize his ideals and the cumulative positive nuclear tests are a growing concern.
While it cannot be said that the US is being demure (modest and shy) regarding its approach to North Korea, but the latter’s increasing effort towards nuclear proliferation might lead to devastating ordeal if not evicted (expel, especially by the support of law). Along side, China’s loathsome attitude in criticizing its benefactors in-humane methods and practices is also demeaning (to insult; causing to loose dignity and respect) of the former’s stature.
