Today I started working on http://onlinevideoconverter.com/ clone. I got to know about the site when I saw a request on Fiverr freelancing site for creating a clone of it.

The plan is create it as an open source software and sell it too :p Hopefully the buyer won’t find it on GitHub or on the Internet. I will just send him the source code or the Docker container. The repository is this :

So, what’s the plan. The plan is to create the back end first, because I am bad at front end :p May be this time when I work on front end, I will learn more about CSS, Flexbox and stuff.

What’s the stack. NodeJs, Express, Redis DB. And use Docker for containerizing the application, and use it during development too (if you are wondering — yes, it can be used for dev too!) and use Nginx as a reverse proxy for accessing the application and for serving static files too, with caching

How am I gonna process the videos and audio that are uploaded — use the awesome ffmpeg tool! Actually, use a npm module which wraps around ffmpeg.

Have an eye for more posts regarding it or just check the repo to know about updates :)
