Welcome to the first part in our series of mod guides. This article will cover how to download Minion, the most popular add-on manager for ESO, as well as some of the most popular mods throughout the ESO community.

Downloading Minion

In MMM, we recommend using Minion to manage all your add-ons. This will allow you to download add-ons, add them to your game, and keep them updated automatically.

Please note: ESO only creates the add-ons folder after you’ve logged into the game at least once. Before you get started with this process, please make sure you’ve logged into the game previously.

Step 1: Navigate to https://minion.mmoui.com/?download

Step 2: Select your OS

The most common choice is Windows 64-bit

Step 3: Run installer. It will ask you where you’d like to install Minion. The best option here is to just stay with the default file path.

Step 4: Open Minion and add Elder Scrolls Online as a game

Step 5: Point Minion to your ESO add-ons folder. It is likely something like this:

C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns

Congrats! You’ve finished setting up Minion. It will now manage all of your add-ons.

Most Popular Add-ons

You can explore the database of mods by selecting “find more” at the top of the minion application. Here, there is a list of popular mods by downloads, but also an option to sort by category or search by name.

thank you, minion ❤

In the years since launch, these are the add-ons that have become so popular, they are almost expected in order to successfully and efficiently play this game. Do you need them? No. Will you want them? Of course.

  • Skyshards: Adds map pins for every skyshard in the game
  • Lorebooks: Adds map pins for every lorebook in the game
  • Harvest Map: Displays resource nodes, chests, and fishing spots on the map, compass, and world
  • Destinations: Displays the following on your maps: wayshrines, dungeons, mundus stones, dolmens, group bosses/dungeons, quest hubs, crafting locations, solo dungeons, group events, group delves, trial instances, and so much more
  • Lost Treasure: Shows treasure map and survey locations on your world map
  • Tamriel Trade Centre: The add-on for the website. If you don’t already use this to track prices, you should be!
  • BeamMeUp — Teleport (Fast Travel): Allows you to use the game’s fast-travel functionality but in a more accessible way. All available fast-travel options that you have are listed on one screen, which allows search and filtering

Always make sure to check all library dependencies when adding a new mod. Most require several lib mods in order to function properly, and will be included in the mod description. For example, when looking through the Skyshards mod description, it lists some requirements:

Always be sure to download these!!
