Manikarnika Ghat Banaras

Manikarnika Ghat is one of the 84 ghats of Varanasi. After the death of a person belonging to the Hindu religion, the last rites or cremation is done at this ghat or Harishchandra Ghat. Manikarnika is made up of two main words Mani and Karnika. Mani means gems and Karnika means — ear. Every year a festival is organized at Manikarnika Ghat on the Saptami night of Chaitra Navratri.
