Benzodiazepine is a drug that can be used to treat anxiety, insomnia and seizures. However, it has been suggested that it may also cause seizures. In people who are genetically predisposed to developing the condition. Synthetic drugs that mimic cannabis, such as JWH-018, can cause seizures when taken by some people.

This is because these drugs bind to cannabinoid receptors in the brain and may have a similar effect on people living with a susceptibility to seizure disorders. Cannabis users should therefore be careful about taking other drugs that have similar effects. This includes alcohol and benzodiazepines.

What is a mood stabilizer? This is a drug that can help you feel happier and less anxious. It does this by helping your brain become calmer (mainly via the GABA receptors) and less stressed (via the NMDA receptor). This means that you will feel calmer, less anxious and be able to cope better with the stresses of everyday life. Common mood stabilizers include:

  • Valium (diazepam)
  • Ativan (lorazepam)
  • Seroquel (quetiapine)
