Kasta Extends Support to Merhi, Boschung’s Temporary Substitute in F2
Ralph Boschung, the Formula 2 (F2) driver Kasta supports through a sponsorship, has previously withdrawn from three F2 race weekends — rounds 4, 5, and 7 — because of a lingering neck injury. And while he’s recovering, 31-year-old Spanish race car driver and Boschung’s Campos Racing teammate Roberto Merhi will race on his behalf.
Merhi Takes Over Boschung’s Seat
The upcoming race weekend, which will be held from July 8 to 10, 2022 in Red Bull Ring, Spielberg Austria, will be Merhi’s F2 comeback since 2018. His F2 debut was with Campos Racing in Barcelona, Spain in 2017. He came back the following year, competed in the first eight rounds with MP Motorsport and raced for the Campos team again in the last two rounds of the 2018 season. Merhi also competed in Formula 1 in 2015.
Boschung and Merhi’s Interview
In an interview, Boschung thanked his sponsors and the Campos team for being fully supportive of his recovery, and mentioned that Merhi is “a good friend and a great driver.” Merhi, on the other hand, said he will try his best to achieve strong results to respond to the trust that Ralph, his sponsors, and the Campos Racing have placed in him.
