It is interesting to note that he states that collaboration “should not be taught as an isolated skill or coerced.” Do we ever TEACH students the best way to be a good partner and collaborator, how to work well in a group, manage conflict, let your voice be heard, etc. These are truly the life skills we hope to gain from collaboration, but these idiosyncrasies take time, but are valuable.
