Influencer : Paula Scher

Paula Scher (born 1948) focuses on identity design, packaging design, publication design and environmental graphics. For over 3 decades she has been the forefront of graphic design.

Scher began her career as an art director in the 1970s and 1980s when her diverse range of ideas and distinctive approach to typography became highly influential.

Scher has designed packaging for a broad range of clients, for example -

  • The New York Times Magazine
  • Perry Ellis
  • Bloomberg
  • Target
  • Jazz at Lincoln Centre
  • The Detroit Symphony Orchestra

There are many many more but if I was to list them all we would be here all day!

In 1998 - Scher was named to the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame

In 2000 – she received the prestigious Chrysler Award of Innovation and design

Since she has also received many other awards and appreciation for her work.
