3 Social Media Ideas for Your Crossfit Box

I have been running CrossFit Five Cities Social Media for over a year now. In that time I have grown my talents, and I have learned a lot of what works and what doesn’t. Crossfit is a sport that is very inspiring to people and also very scary. From the average Joe who has never worked out reading about Crossfit could be scary and make them think, “I could never do that!” In reality they can. I remember my first experience at Crossfit, sitting in my car in the parking lot screaming at myself to go inside. Walking into that building was the scariest thing I have ever done and my life has completely changed because of that.

I think one of the best ideas that you can do for your Crossfit box is to show anyone looking at your Instagram account is that it is a place of just normal people trying to better their health. Not super athletes. I do this by showcasing different members of our box. I tell a little bio about them and how Crossfit has changed their life for the better. I also try to highlight when a member does something for first time. For example, if a member gets their very first rope climb, I will take a picture and post it. It makes the members feel good, and it also inspires anyone who sees it.

Another thing idea that has worked well is to showcase transformation stories. Show before-and-after photos that represent the service you offer. There are a handful of members at CrossFit Five Cities that have completely changed their life. A current member started because he was tired of being overweight. He is now one of our strongest, leanest members. It’s very inspiring to show people that we are all capable of changing and getting fit. I highlight their weight loss story and how they were able to achieve fitness.

Lastly make don’t be afraid to use trending hashtags such as: #motivationmonday #tuesdaytips, #wednesdaywisdom, #transformationthursday ect. I try to use those hashtags every week. One fun thing I do to get the coaching staff involved, and gives knowledge to members is Coaches tips every Tuesday. Coaches come up with weekly tips to help members with certain workouts or movements. Using these hashtags will get more eyes on your Instagram which means more people in the door.
