The Campiest Movies on Disney Plus (That Aren’t Hocus Pocus)

As a childless woman who is nauseated by the idea of outer space, there isn’t very much for me on Disney Plus. I need GLAMOUR and EXTRAVAGANCE to keep me entertained. Good thing there are a few camp classics hidden deep within the Disney vault.

Here, in no particular order, are the campiest movies on Disney Plus:

1. Big Business (1988)

In Hocus Pocus, Bette Midler shines as everyone’s favorite buck-toothed witch. BUT THE CHILDREN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BIG BUSINESS!

I’m not going attempt to explain the complicated plot, so here’s what you need to know: Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin EACH play a set of identical twins who have been mixed up at birth. When all four women converge at a swanky Manhattan hotel, hilarity and hi jinks ensue.

What Makes it Camp: Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin, polka dots and shoulder pads, horny Italians, Bette’s iconic lizard brooch, and the bathroom scene (which was given an excellent homage in Season 3 of Difficult People).

Author’s Note: When I was little, I thought Bette Midler in Big Business was the most glamorous woman in the world. I dreamed of growing up to be the kind of woman who was rich enough to go into a hotel lobby boutique and buy a fitted polka-dotted suit straight…
