“Femininity” IS the Enemy

This attitude is very dated, I’m afraid. I used to feel the same back in the 1980’s and 90’s, figuring that I won’t be taken seriously unless I dress like a slob. Techie. A guy. However, it turned out it didn’t matter all that much. I was taken just as seriously wearing a string of pearls in the lab as when I didn’t. Femininity as social construct is a valid concept some people still subscribe to. However, it’s perfectly acceptable, and possible, to dress in a practical fashion and still feel pretty. I hope you younger ladies get a clue earlier than I have, and don’t wait until your 40’s that it’s okay to be a woman, be feminine, and not be afraid to show it.
