This is a great example how legal framework isn’t capable of catching up with technological progress.
I see it frequently in aerospace industry. Copyright law, for example, doesn’t work well for the protection of any data produced by satellites (or analytics products derived from it). The industry is moving forward very fast, rapidly transitioning from government-only to private, while the laws that regulate space activities date back to the 60s.
