12 Plagues of Being a Social Media Manager and Content Writer

  1. Getting a sick satisfaction from clicking on sponsored search results or ads.
  2. Google+ becomes more appealing than Facebook but no one else seems to think so.

3. Your personal social media accounts suffer.

4. Having to delete a tweet because you forgot a specific link, picture, or hashtag.

5. You fight the urge to use hashtags in actual conversations on an almost daily basis.

6. When the Flesch Reading Ease of your blog post is considered too difficult for the average reader, and you’re left wondering why the fuck you went to college?

7. Coming up with something clever just to have 0 shares, likes, RT’s, +1's, or comments.

8. Having a boss who doesn’t understand that there is no way to REALLY know when something is going to go viral until after it’s already happened.

9. Managing multiple brands and posting something on one brand’s page while thinking it’s another.

10. When you tell someone what you do for a living and they respond with “Ohhh” the way you would say it before following it up with a “that’s so cute- you think you have a real job!”

11. Having your friends and family laugh at your work problems because they think all you do is sit on Twitter and Pinterest all day.

12. When the marketing budget is spent on stupid ideas instead of your great ones and your boss comes to you about your ideas and says “so maybe that wasn’t a good use of our time” when your idea doesn’t sell. -__-
