Human Design Transit in Gate 51: The Thunderbolt
We are currently sandwiched in the Eclipses of the Nodal transit of Aries-Libra. We welcome the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 8th in the transit of Gate 51 — an Aries energy, the first sign of the zodiac.
Gate 51 is the GATE OF SHOCK / IMPACT / THUNDERBOLT / AROUSING / ENERGY TO BE FIRST.
Gate 51 is my True North in Human Design.
Where I did not have the tools I do now during my 1st Nodal Return, transiting my 2nd Nodal Return this eclipse season has been an intense series of awakenings as a mystic who is integrating the spiritual and human worlds.

During my First Nodal Return when I was 19 and a consistent honor student, a girl once came up to me and asked what grade I got in a particular course. But what she said next I won’t forget, “Ha! Finally! I’m better than you!!!”
I stared at her, puzzled… as I put the pieces together on the impact I wasn’t aware I had.
I had a natural competitive energy (Gate 51), yet I could not be bothered with other people’s business. I stayed in my own lane.
But that was the day my blinders came off.
I often attracted competitive dynamics, both women and men. And it got exhausting.
I altogether avoided engaging with people who felt like I was a threat, who would throw shade my way directly or indirectly, even if I didn’t do anything to warrant such. (Sometimes, I did.)
Thanks to my Libra south node, I quieted this energy a lot. I tried to be more considerate not to make men/women feel less in my presence. I was careful not to act, walk, and talk in ways that made others feel smaller…
But eventually, that made me feel less and small.
Then I finally understood how “negative competitiveness” is born from that space.
PLAY #4: THE UNAPOLOGETIC
For Gate 51 holders, it’s important to navigate this energy with awareness. Without awareness, we see the harsh effects of Gate 51 once your blinders are off to societal conditionings.
In the Philippines where I grew up, there’s a common phenonmenon called the “crab mentality”. It’s rooted in scarcity belief that “there’s not enough to go around” so people pull each other down, because underneath their shell is a fragile ego.
When you have a natural energy to be first and to be the best version of yourself, it may trigger those who have this mentality. They might even discourage you from growth that do not directly benefit them.
On the other hand, not honoring the pressure of your energy doesn’t subside the pressure… It only builds it up.
Knowing how to infuse consciousness into this energy allows you to avoid the lower expressions of Gate 51.
Standing unapologetically in your greatness allows others to step more fully into theirs.
PLAY #3: THE ORIGINAL
We live in a society that is designed for competition — from sports to academic honors, social hierarchies, global markets and economy, etc.
It just takes a gentle shift in how we view competitiveness so we can use this energy more consciously.
If you focus on developing your own unique set of gifts, then you can infuse the abundance mindset and believe that there’s enough to go around the world.
Most people can be stuck in a linear way of thinking when they compare with others, in a world where our definition of success is externally defined.
But if everybody’s path, gifts, experiences, and soul mission are so diverse and unique from yours… Then your best play is to stay in your own lane than get distracted and lost in others’.
No one else is me, and no one else is you.
PLAY #2: THE INITIATOR
Gate 51 (Shock) together with Gate 25 (Universal Love) forms the Channel of Initiation and Uniqueness 25-51 (The Shaman’s Channel).
Having the full channel tempers the shock of my gate 51 with the innocence of my gate 25. It also allows me to channel this energy into healing work. After all, it isn’t called the Priestess/Shaman’s channel for nothing — creating impact through initiations directed by love.
This channel initiates you to your full potential, while transcending the separation consciousness of “me against the world”.
It empowers us for self-development in order to rise together as a collective.
You not only strive to be the best version of yourself, but you also value your connectedness with others.
To see God you have to have special eyes, otherwise you cannot bear the shock.
PLAY #1: THE THUNDERBOLT
In I’Ching, Gate 51 carries the energy of the Thunderbolt in our DNA. It is designed to withstand SHOCK. It is designed TO BE FIRST. It carries the gift to shock and AWAKEN others.
But only when (1) you know who you truly are outside of the box that society has defined for you; and (2) you can listen to your intuition…
Then can this energy move through you from a higher frequency:
“TO BE FIRST” means there’s no other person that could lead you there. You go where others haven’t gone. You do what others haven’t done.
