I actually agree with you. Santa Cruz and lots of neighboring communities are feeling the crush of Silicon Valley workers looking for affordable housing. I’ve been working hard to get Palo Alto to deal with the problem instead of foisting it onto other communities. But when there’s a housing shortage in the entire area, there’s basically nowhere you can move where you won’t be causing gentrification. Even if I left that state entirely and went to Austin or Seattle, they’d also say they’re being gentrified.
