I don’t have plans to right now. Planning has to be very context-specific. I understand the Peninsula’s problems very well because I’ve spent years living here and studying it. I can’t say I understand Santa Cruz like that and I won’t until I’ve put in the same effort getting to know my neighbors and understanding the city.

I’ll say that in terms of being Planning Commissioner, it’s certainly more fulfilling in cities where the City Council doesn’t review every decision they make, making them just an advisory body (like in PA). In most places, the Commission has final say unless the matter is appealed.
