Utilizing short semester breaks efficiently at college

Students should enjoy their time at college and make it as productive as possible because this is the time when you get several opportunities to grow and enjoy in life. Before college, you are not mature enough to live to the full and after college you get very busy with professional life and building career. However, college journey is not very easy and there are several tasks you need to perform simultaneously. The workload is immense and this often makes it difficult for students to enjoy during the semester.
Therefore, academic consultants and professors encourage students to make the full out of semester breaks they get. Spring breaks are usually short and since they arrive during the semester, professors often assign work to students. So if you have a couple of lengthy assignments to do during spring break, it does not mean you cannot enjoy during the break. I used to ask others to write my assignment so that I can get more time to spend on leisure. Time is the greatest constraint but since there are no classes during the break, following are some tips through which you can save time and enjoy the break without having to compromise on your academics:
1) Minimize your sleep: For a majority of students, sleep is at the top of their priority list and hence this point may seem unattractive but minimizing sleep does not mean you should set an alarm and wake up after sleeping for 5 hours. You should avoid sleeping during the day because that extra sleep consumes too much of your time which could have been spent elsewhere efficiently. Sleep for relaxing 8 or 9 hours at night so that you stay fresh throughout the day.
2) Create a schedule for each day: From among a range of activities that students plan to do during the spring break, gym, exploring places, swimming, sports, dining at new places and obviously, assignments are some of the most popular ones. You are probably not planning to do everything in the list so prepare that list of yours so that you can create a realistic schedule. The reason why you must create a “realistic” schedule is so that it is easier to follow a realistic schedule. Allocating three hours to gym is definitely not real!
3) Avoid procrastination and follow the schedule: Since time is a major constraint throughout college life, you must avoid procrastination and save time so that you can give time to assignments and leisure both. As I used to procrastinate a lot, I often asked others to write my assignment for me but never compromised on the enjoyment that students deserve.
4) Commit to yourself: The most important thing to motivate yourself to study and enjoy simultaneously is to make a commitment to yourself that every task is equally important. If you make yourself believe that assignment writing is more important than going to that trip with friends, you will not be able to spare time for the trip as you already know that assignment is more important. Attach equal importance to every task and you will make every possible effort to spare sufficient time for each one of them.
These tips will help you make the most out of your spring break at college.
