Nope. Right on target. You see, people who think service is demeaning in nature have an internal issue with their own value, one the writer projects onto every customer. Service is the path of ascension. And obviously you missed that part of my post or you’d know I love service. I did it with joy for many years. The writer is obviously unsuited for it.
Customer service is not a mechanism for separating people and creating condescension. It’s a mechanism for creating business relationships that make life much more enjoyable while at the same time increasing business.
The average cranky customer is a small percentage and handling it with style something you learn like handling cranky co-workers, toddlers or husbands, even. Everyone has bad moments and acting like that keeps people up at night, when it’s actually the problem of the service worker, who needs a different job, and probably lets everyday crap keep them up at night isn’t productive and won’t help society.
The unions in the US have been obsolete for at least 50 years. They’ve done nothing but decrease product quality, increase prices, and driven jobs out of country, and convinced people that their envy of others is justified and should be pandered to.
