Your Name Is What?!
That awkward moment when your unconventional name is much more than just a name.

I brainstormed 72 hours straight. A pretty deadly thing to do. Then I ended up with an awful eardrum malfunction, at which point I took a break and had some fun.
That’s when I remembered my good friend Hilary. ☺
You see, the thing about Hilary is; he isn’t as hilarious as his name suggests. It really got me thinking — (my eardrum was getting better)- funny, shouldn’t Hilary BE a hilarious man? Otherwise, why then is he called Hilary? To what end exactly?
There is something about some names from around the world — especially those English (language) ones — and things they can be associated with or what they can be taken to mean — literally or figuratively. We are all human.
William for example, is just a name. But in today’s world of creativity and unconventionalism, William is also anagram for I AM WILL who suddenly morphed into Will-I-AM, the name of a renowned musician — permanently etched in our memories, never to be forgotten. As your mind now knows, Will-I-Am is very different from Prince William. Even if they are both Williams (not Serena and Venus — whose names are quite another chapter). One is the William that the other is not. Or so it seems — etymologically speaking.
Why is it that through all of some people’s years of child-bearing and reading heinous name books, the one thing they’ve cared about is the propensity to name their offspring after inexplicable nouns, unbecoming adjectives, remote edifices and crude acts of orifice accidents? My guess is; in a world of over 7 billion people, one has to stand out somehow. These parents will not use conventional naming conventions. You will remember their kids one way or another. And remember them we do.
The whole thing got me chuckling, until I read this rather revealing piece that ‘Britain is running out of Cocks.’ Suffice to say the chuckles died a natural death.
Nevertherless, it will be interesting to see if someone with one of these names gets subtlely influenced by the name as to affect their personality. That will be something. Meantime, below are some of the names I punned with on twitter as waves of epiphany (and smiles) hit me.
Whilst we are at it. Why would anyone call someone or themselves Willy/Willie? Just why???
