Reflection: Heneral Luna
Since I was in elementary I already have a thing for Philippine History. I really want to know more about our heroes and their history during the war. It was my first time to watch this film, since it was premiered last year and due to schoolworks I didn’t find the time to watch it. This film is not just a simple film, it talks about our country’s history. While watching the film, I already realized that even in the past decades their is no unity in our country. Because I observed that many are against Luna, people are more convinced by collaborating with the Americans because our country will benefit in terms of business and for the better life for our family. People since then are blind, they can’t see who are the real leaders. Like what Luna said “ganito ba talaga ang tadhana natin? Kalaban ang kalaban? Kalaban ang kakampo? I’m not being biased but Emilio and Apolinario sucks because if they really want to defeat the Americans why they let Antagonists set free? I feel bad for Luna because he put his life on risk to fight for the freedom of our country but still many people are against him and stop it by killing him. Antonio Luna show his love for our countr despite all the consequences he faced. And I conclude that he is really a hero. He’s death was horrendous, a hero like him doesn’t deserve to be killed. On that moment I was portraying myself to be a part of our country’s past where I want to make the people open their mind and realize who are the real enemies. And the quite that really marked the entire film was “May mas malaki tayong kalaban sa mga Amerikano ang ating sarili” Until now in the lives of us Filipino their is no respect and humanity to one another. We keep on blaming on the past and until now nothing’s change. “Same old same old” People in our government keep on looking fo their opponents issues being corrupt and destroying a person’s reputation by revealing his/her personal issues. Joven Hernando represent the voice of our generation. We are the voice of our country. I really enjoyed watching the film. It really talks about history which made the film a masterpiece.
