Comrades are saying “I can’t access this.” This response, to me, boils down to an idea that their increased access would be a threat to the overall health of the organization. I strongly disagree. Concerns about continued community building are important, but we need to find solutions that work to address that problem specifically. For example, changing the topics and structure of GMs is one possibility, so they’re more focused on discussion and working together rather than passive reception of information or debate; the GMPC has already made efforts to shift in this direction, which is great! Advocating for increased opportunities to vote doesn’t equate participation with voting, but it does recognize the importance of voting to our organization.
