I wanted to make an addendum in response to a comment I got on Facebook saying I’d generalized OU frats. I did make a generalization based on my experience. My sophomore year, a fraternity marched on the College Green — just across the street from my dorm — chanting “No means yes, yes means anal.” Acacia House in particular is infamous for sexual assault. And every August, frats all over campus hang banners saying “Thank you fathers, we’ll take it from here.” Here’s a particularly gross one from 2014.

If I portrayed OU frats as drunken and sexist, it’s because they advertise themselves as drunken and sexist. And I assume people know I’m talking about party frats, not the ones that exist for academic or other reasons.
As I said, it’s any Bobcat’s prerogative to party, but if you’re hurting others it’s a problem.
