The Ghetto School introduces young filmmakers to Old Masters.

Really nice collaboration between The Ghetto Film School and The Frick Collection in the NYT article.

This is a much better idea then just working through the education departments at museums, which in my time were really disconnected from curatorial and also have the huge responsible of school programs to run. One-off visits to museums in large groups are probably not enough exposure for kids. They want the knowledge and expertise the actual scholars/curators can give them and not the watered down version presented by education departments in these quick tours. I hope this type of concept spreads to other places. If these kids are successful it also widens the museum audience and donor base which is too old and white for a changing US demographic.
