That is a great point. I actually had one more excuse that I took out of the final draft of this article because I thought it was a topic that deserved a little more elaboration, but I’ll share it with you here:
“I’m just being lazy.”
Does the term lazy define your entire self? This is just basic name-calling and self-attack. It’s an inherent flaw why you’re not doing what you want to be doing? This is so self defeating. You’re not going to therapy because there is something wrong with you?
Guess what? There is nothing wrong with you. You don’t go to therapy to fix yourself. You go to therapy to figure out why a part of you believes you are flawed. Who told you that? Where did you get this idea that you are bad? Part of you is not seeing reality clearly. Help them find clarity.
