I could clap for this line a thousand times !! Ideally , we would not ever need to make such diametrically opposed choices between security/comfort and adventure, passion, meaning in our lives but unfortunately all meaningful change begins with changes. We usually don’t get to “have (re: keep) our cake and eat it too”. Every person makes these decisions often and sometimes on a daily basis ( oh god I don’t want to go to work , but the kids need to eat and rent waits for no man.. ” ) so each has to weigh their options and carefully decide what is best for them.
After 57 years on this planet, during which I’ve done the so-called crazy thing many times and walked away from security/comfort that felt like a slow suffocation of my soul and did the safe — er things (nothing is really safe) for the right reasons too many times to count - I can say that when I made either of those choices I would have been wrong not to make the choice I did make. Take chances, but count the cost and make sure you are ready to pay it . If you are not ready right then , save up until you can leap . It’s always wise to look before you do though and sometimes no matter the cost it is time to fly.
