Ways to Avoid Work Burnout
Unfortunately, for most of us, quitting jobs to travel the world is not as realistic as how other bloggers make it seem. Some of us are actually with our jobs to make ends meet, because it is what sustains us. With this, being in a job for years may most likely result to a burn-out.
It’s a completely inevitable stage, but we don’t have to get stuck there for good. After years of working, I have personally stumbled several bouts of burn out in my job. Fortunately, if you actually look hard enough, there are more ways to combat this apart from leaving your job.
Finding or Re-Finding A Hobby
Inevitably, a full-time job takes you away from some of the things that you love. You may even quit a good old hobby because you are already too preoccupied with your current job. When you start feeling burned out, it’s high time for you to explore new hobbies or rekindle the old ones. A sewing website called Sewing Ideas is one of the hobby blogs that I follow for inspiration. A hobby effectively takes your mind off your job, so you can at least temporarily put your mind away from job-related stress. You can search for various sewing projects depending on your skill levels.
Spend Days Off
Ever realized how you constantly complain about being overworked, but actually purposely put yourself in such situation? Do not be guilty about taking a day off from time to time. You do not have to schedule anything, just use your time off from work to accomplish the things you’ve long wanted to. Perhaps sleeping until 10 am? Indulge yourself with rest. Your body will thank you for it.
Travel
You do not need to leave your job to travel. Use your leave credits to go elsewhere. It does not have to be an international destination, it can just be a 3-hour drive town where you can feel renewed from all your work stresses. Planning for travels is also amazingly cathartic. So, this is one thing you can do during your downtime at work. Towards the end of your trip, you may even find yourself more eager to work again, because you need to replenish that bank account, ASAP!
