A spoonful of me

I’ve started to write more in the open because..

  1. I want to look back, inspect and remember.
  2. I want to look forward, be curious and reflect.
  3. Writing can sound different and clearer to my out-loud voice — though I’m sharing in the open not blasting from the rooftops.
  4. It provides purpose and comfort to my sometimes solitude.
  5. The act of typing slows, forms and completes my thoughts.
  6. When I start clacking my keyboard I have no idea where I‘ll arrive and it’s often touch and go to even get there. It’s like a river running uphill. There will be a journey’s end — with meanderings and plunges along the way — but will often seen impossible.
  7. It’s sometimes easier to show ‘me’ than ask the same from others. (Most of what I write isn’t shared. It’s only the odd spoonful for now).
  8. The writing I do share is often related to a Sheffield event so, in a small way, I’m helping advertise this fine city.

To be continued as I know this list isn’t finished. But in writing, as in life, if you don’t start — you don’t start.
