Built Oregon, a digital magazine that celebrates unique Oregon stories, promotes the vision of entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration happening throughout Oregon.

With a heavy focus on craft and attention to detail, whether that craft revolves around food, technology, or life sciences, Built Oregon celebrates the statewide network of entrepreneurs and innovators driving the state’s economy, and more importantly, its local communities.

The primary focus of similar publications revolves around larger cities and a small segment of industries, but Built Oregon recognizes that innovation spans the entire state, giving a voice to the otherwise anonymous entrepreneurs directly responsible for building Oregon.

The experiences of small-scale local and regional endeavors are rarely told, resulting in a lack of awareness about the happenings across Oregon. Built Oregon is a platform designed to tell these stories, stories that generate connections between businesses and inspire statewide innovators.

With a little help from investors, Built Oregon will be able to create a new online home designed to highlight stories, both written and interactive, that focus on founders and companies across the state.

Funding will enable the company to publish stories on a consistent basis, giving them the ability to hire exceptional talent, including journalists, writers, photographers, videographers, and designers.

Beginning as a long-form digital magazine, crafted by storytellers around the state, a variety of articles will be published on a monthly basis, highlighting Oregon startups and entrepreneurs with short-form stories from week to week.

Your support will help to successfully launch Built Oregon, allowing them to publish two issues beginning as soon as November 2014 and December 2014.

With high hopes of inspiring the next wave of doers, Built Oregon believes in local entrepreneurs, offering the opportunity to connect Oregonians through a statewide network that promotes the acceleration of Oregon as a whole.

From the recognition of medical advances and industry development, to new types of cycling equipment and other technological innovations, Oregon’s stories of collective struggle, as well as success, deserve to be told.
