What Are You Spreading in the World Today?

I have tried my best to keep my political feelings off my blogs, primarily because I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions and convictions.
I’m a believer in choosing your battles, and while this little post may not go viral, or do much in fighting a battle that seems hopeless, I can no longer remain silent.
For the past 187 days, 7 hours, 20 minutes and 50 seconds, I have turned on my television or opened my online news feeds, wondering how in the world Donald Trump will embarrass our country again.
And you know what?
He never fails.
His Twitter tantrums, his constant bullying of anyone who doesn’t side with him, and his inability to see beyond his own nose and agendas is continually widening the division of our communities.
He has shown the world why we don’t need Barnum and Bailey anymore; There is a new circus in town.
Mr. Trump spouts he follows God, and yet the only god he appears to care about is the one he sees looking back at him in the mirror.

The God I know loves.
The God I know doesn’t say one thing and then do another.
The God I know doesn’t promote, condone, or support hate and discrimination towards others.
And we are ALL His people whether we acknowledge Him or not.
Now more than ever we need to take a stand.
We need to promote love and stop hate.
To our LGBT community, and especially, the transgender community who are facing discrimination at an even more heightened level today, as you must feel you have been fired and once again cast out, I choose to love.
I choose to stand beside you and support you for being you.
You are beautiful.
You are valued.
You are not a hassle.
You are not a disruption.
You are a gift.
You are loved.
The words of a mere man, do not reflect the heart or actions of everyone.
Sadly, there are those who demonize what they don’t understand, and they promote hate, division, and conditions on what is acceptable.
We either believe in human rights, or we don’t, and now that we have a ‘leader’ who doesn’t, who among us will take a stand and fight for those who have fought for us?
