I never knew about this either. Of course, strikingly similar to the East St. Louis riot of 1917 and Chicago’s “Red Summer” of 1919. These, and other WWI-era race riots, are part of our US history of which I was unaware until recent years…they didn’t teach us any of this at my mostly white suburban high school. Thank you for the enlightenment.
