Be More Interesting….
This weekend I was at BarCamp Manchester (#BCMCR6), and although I was in actual fact working, I did spend some time attending the talks and workshops.
One talk that I really found interesting was by Ian Forrester and “How to be more interesting.” This may surprise some people, but then to others, they may thing it was about time I attend that talk.
One of Ian’s points focused on a blog of his in particular ‘How to be Interesting.’ Now let’s focus on point 2. Start a blog and update it regularly! I’ve dipped in an out of blogging in the past, but it seems that things didn’t work out. I asked Ian this, and it seems that it’s okay to blog about anything and everything.
Having spent the past 4 years packing and unpacking boxes and various IKEA storage bags throughout university, note books don’t always stay by my side. As Ian suggests, it’s also about getting your thoughts, good conversations and topics that you may have seen during the day, week or month written or typed down somewhere to keep.
I recently had a conversation with a friend about personal brand, and how people perceive you. As Ian suggests “the interchange of ideas with other peoples thoughts will make you a more interesting person.”
I can’t promise that this blog will excite or appeal to everybody, and I can’t be certain of what direction things will go, however hopefully it will make me more ‘interesting.’
