Yes, the environment has changed to some degree. And if the US charges into the eastern cost of China willy nilly, they will have some issues. But the US gets a chance to use tactics too. And while China can hid the missiles, it generally cannot move them. To say nothing of what happens when the missiles are largely expended and the US is able to park three to ten air wings off the coast of Taiwan.

But in addition to that, there are plenty of other theaters where carriers can still operate, if not with impunity, at least with minimal effort. Sure, Iran might get a crack at a carrier but then again, when the US weapon systems that could target launch sites, they probably wouldn’t.

The entirety of Africa is open to them.

No, aircraft carriers are not done. Not by a long shot.
