Thanks for writing this! I get a kombucha a week and it’s often $5/bottle, which is insane. However, I’ve had mixed results DIY-ing stuff like this, including sourdough bread (worth it, although I initially wasted a lot of flour) and yogurt (not worth it, I never got the hang of it and wasted tons of money). So, still not sure I’m up for this, and those photos of ladies manhandling giant SCOBYs that always seem to show up on books on this subject freak me out.
