This post is different from my usual, and I’ve been wondering whether to publish it or not.

Today is Valentine’s Day, and I believe it’s perfect timing for this post. “It’s now or never.”

I hope you enjoy : )

#1 Benjamin Zulu Global

Benjamin Zulu is an internationally acclaimed life coach, counselor, and psychologist based in Kenya. The first time I met him, he appeared as a guest on the Switch TV YouTube channel.

His videos introduced me to the world of dating and relationships, and from here I kept learning more and more. He dishes out really good advice, eventhough it’s tough to hear sometimes.

By watching his videos, I gained the courage to focus on my personal growth and financial independence, and to stand up to the societal and familial pressure to get married before I was ready.

#2 Tony Gaskins

Tony is a Life coach, a speaker, and an author who has worked with top-level celebrities and businesses.

Before getting married, Tony was an unfaithful guy who slept around with multiple women. At a point, he was able to turn his life around, step into his life’s purpose, and make the choice to commit to one woman, his wife.

One of my many takeaways from Tony is that men don’t cheat because “it’s in their nature to do so”, but because they choose to. As women, it’s important that we do not to accept cheating behavior as normal and settle with men who make it a habit.

#3 Stephan Speaks

Stephan Labossiere — popularly known as Stephan Speaks on all social media platforms—is a certified relationship coach, speaker, and best-selling author.

His mission is to help singles and couples have happier and more fulfilling relationships. One of the lessons I picked up from Stephan is the importance of marrying the right partner God (or Allah, or the universe, etc.) has for you. He shares red flags to look out for, character traits, non-negotiable attitudes, etc.

Additionally, Stephan has a vibrant YouTube community section brimming with short and sweet relationship reminders. Here is an example:

#4 Matt Boggs

Matt Boggs is an expert dating & relationship coach, speaker and best-selling author.

His channel is centered around helping women attract their dream partner and arm them with the knowledge to better understand men and create a healthier and deeper connection with them. Matt covers a wide range of topics including red & green flags to look out for in men, feminine habits that men find attractive, texting men and dating advice.

Personally, I choose not to pursue a man. Matt has given me reason to stick to my choice. He has taught me that women attract, and men pursue. This means if I like a guy, I express subtle gestures (eg. having an open posture, maintaining eye contact, smiling & laughing frequently), to get his attention and invite him to pursue me.

#5 Okoro Blessing Nkiruka

Okoro Blessing Nkiruka (aka Blessing CEO) is — as she always says — Africa’s most controversial relationship and mental expert. She discusses love, marriage, sex, dating and everything about relationship mostly within the African context.

Blessing CEO dated her ex-husband for 4 years and was later involved in a toxic and abusive marriage for 1 year and 6 months with him. At the time of their marriage, she was 18 years old, and he was 14 years older than her. She learned a lot from that experience and shares her lessons to help others make better decisions.

One key lesson Blessing CEO learned from her divorce — that I have also learned from her — is that love is not enough for marriage. Chemistry (which is more about the lovey-dovey feeling) is different from compatibility (can we stay together forever?). Before you settle with your partner, do not allow “love” blind you to the fact that you are not compatible. To be compatible, ensure you are both aligned in your core values and future goals, and are willing to compromise and be intentional about making your marriage successful.

#6 Breeny Lee

Debrina Francis (aka Breeny Lee) is a Speaker, Transformation coach and YouTuber.

About 9 years ago when she started on YouTube, she published hair & makeup tutorials and fashion-related videos. Her channel has slowly and continuously evolved, she now mostly shares relationship advice. She has also collaborated with 2 of my favorites (who I’ve already shared in this list) on her channel, Tony Gaskins and Stephan Speaks.

At some point in our lives as women, we tend to crave the attention of guys and seek their validation. This mostly leads to women picking and settling with the wrong partners. Breeny Lee shares that we can avoid this and build healthy relationships by first learning to enjoy our own company, validate & love ourselves, and build our confidence & self-esteem.

[7] DoctorRamani

Dr. Ramani Durvasula is a licensed clinical psychologist, a YouTuber, an author and a podcast host.

Her YouTube channel is one I never knew I needed until I stumbled on it. Unlike the other channels in this list, it focuses on educational content around narcissism in relationships including romantic ones. She covers topics including signs of a narcissistic partner, avoiding narcissistic manipulation, and healing from a narcissistic relationship.

One of the key points I have kept with me from Dr. Ramani’s channel is that there is no hope for a relationship with a narcissistic partner, it is doomed from the onset. The moment you spot the shiny red flags of narcissism in your partner, let them go. Do not even think of trying to change them or the possibility that they could change in the future, it is almost impossible. One of the main reasons is because narcissist partners do not love you (even when they say they do), they only love themselves and a successful relationship cannot blossom on this foundation.
