The reason I brought the original essay by Nadia Z to your attention was because her experience seemed to be substantially different from what I know of your experience as a young adult freshly navigating life in a Canada which, despite being your birthplace, would have appeared rather foreign upon your return. Your lived experience is no less important that anyone else’s, and therefore, your voice needed to be heard. I am glad you chose to take up the onus of writing out a detailed response.
