My take from the Global Entrepreneurship Week Event.
My experience of attending my first entrepreneurship event.
I attended the Global Entrepreneurship Week ( GEW ) event today, was quite a nice experience. It was good to see budding entrepreneurs with great ideas and prototypes. The speakers panel had Safir Adeni, Vishnu Murthy and Surendra Reddy as speakers, great people talking about starting a venture. Below is my take from the overall event.
Entrepreneurship: Art or Science?
A question posed by Safir and Vishu and argued upon. Well if I would have to answer the question I would say its Art because similar to ART, Entrepreneurship is not define it does not have any particular form or it can not be explained in words. Consider a Piece of Painting by Picasso or Hussein, one might not necessarily understand what or how to interpret the piece of art nor it can be put in the shackle of handful words, still it might be considered a classic. Similar to that Entrepreneurship is like art it can not be taught it has to come from within. Unlike science which is acquired or learned. And it is based of facts which are same for all who perceive it. On the contrary Entrepreneurship is a bit different what worked to X might not work for Y and vice versa, it does not have any formula and no one has it.
A few other question were asked by the attendees: When to start? When to stop? How do I know I have to start? Am I ready to be an Entrepreneur? The Speaker tried best to answer the questions, but I will try to answer the question in my way, what I understand by those questions is when you look closely to the above question you realize one thing its the same problem we faced in answering the first question “Entrepreneurship: Art or Science?” No there is no person in this word who can tell you the answer to those questions. The only person who has the answers to these question is YOU, remember it has to come from within — from within you, then I would say you are ready to take the crazy ride of Starting up your own company.
A few question surfaced about finding the right co-founder, few suggestions were tossed about how the co-founder should be. Well in my take its simple co-founder is a person who shares your Idea/Dream, not necessarily a person who is like you or tend to like you.
