Few days ago I came across a site called Wishberg its an online place where one can log their wishes and make a list of them, follow people and see what others are wishing for. Kind of a wishing platform as I would like to call it and ‘A wishlist for life’ as wishberg’s guys like to say it.
Here is how I view the creation of this site, wishberg implements the very core of any business, the ‘Demand’ and supply model, wishes derive demands, say for e.g if you wish for something today, you might go and buy it tomorrow, and it is the very parameter which businesses rely on. With demands businesses know where to steer and what domain to serve by creating products or services and turn into profits. One other thing which is accompanied with this is ‘Advertising’ (here, considering digital advertising). Wishberg can be a great platform for advertising turning two of the disadvantages of context based ads (facebook & and google) , Say a business thinks of advertising on wishberg the only thing it has to do is create a lucrative product/service that a few people wish initially and a lot later. They way advertising is different from traditional (facebook & google) is that the AD which is in the form of wish here is only going to reach people who are actually seeking for it, meaning the people who are seeking are potentially customers with a very high probability of buying your product. Somehow I believe that the conversion rate of such ads can be pretty high at least better than other similar platforms. The other thing is that Businesses can create wishes out of deals, where one does not have to search for deals but just has to wish for it ☺ pretty neat huh !
There are many features that wishberg’s team can implement such as temporary wishes (but again this is in perspective of businesses may or may not serve the user) which are ads based on products/services cashing on shear quantity and not the margin profit earned per product. Say for e.g. an advertiser has to create a timely deal, and make a wish out of it, and if enough people wish for, it just might come true, crazy enough I guess.
On a ending note Wishberg, a pretty neat way to log ones wishes and in all a great consumer product out of India’s startup ecosystem
