This is a quick look at the Raptoreum rewards schedule and emissions curve as we plan it at this time. We wanted to change things up, be a little different. The result is a very smooth emissions curve and theme that is cool and fun, yes I said emissions talk is fun!
Reduction Cycle
Each reduction cycle is 21,262 blocks, which is 29 days, 12 hours, and 44 minutes (synodic lunar month). This decreases the block reward slowly every full moon, we have names this the “owling”. This greatly smooths the emission curve in comparison with coins such as RVN or BTC.
Each phase lasts 8 years (2 x regular 4 year halving) which corresponds almost exactly to 99 lunar months.

Octaeteris 1: 26 lunar months with a 5000 RTM block reward, during which the collateral is shown as in the Litepaper, then 73 lunar months with a 10 RTM block reward reduction every full moon, awooooooo! (99 lunar months total)
Octaeteris 2: 99 lunar months with a 20 RTM block reward reduction every full moon.
Octaeteris 3: 50 lunar months with a 20 RTM block reward reduction every full moon followed by 49 lunar months with a 10 RTM block reward reduction each full moon.
That would be the first 24 years of Raptoreum emission. After those first 24 years (or 6,315,534 blocks), 19,809,383,040 RTM will be in circulation (94.3% of total supply), an amount very close to Ravencoin (RVN) after the same 24 years (98.44%), but issued in a much smoother way.
