Raptoreum The Beginning (Weekly Update One)

We have been fairly quiet on Discord and Telegram, but behind the scenes we have been pretty busy! We currently are in R&D stage so everything takes a lot of thought and discussion, which is time consuming.

Out With ProgPow In With GhostRider

We had originally intended to go with ProgPow but we have slowly but surely moved completely away from that idea for various reasons. Instead our own algorithm code named “GhostRider” is under discussion and will begin development stage very soon.

GhostRider is unique and innovative, our attempt to keep ASICs and FPGA off the network. For now I cannot give much in the way of details except that it will be a hybrid of X16R and the CNv1-8 algorithms.

The Forkening

We have forked Ravencoin into a private repository and work has begun, so far this has mostly comprised of rebranding the code to Raptoreum.

Masternodes

Masternodes on Raptoreum already will play a very important role in handling smart contracts. We are currently discussing making them even more vital and using them to protect the network against attack such as 51%. This idea and the technical details is still purely research and discussion at the moment. If we can make it happen it would be huge for Raptoreum.

The Whitepaper

I am asked about this constantly, it is 95% complete and will be released soon TM.

The Website

Construction is underway for real at this point, I will of course let you know when ready!

Closing

Things are rolling and work is constantly going on behind the scenes, the holiday season as expected will slow us down a bit as it should everybody :) Raptoreum has already evolved so much from the original idea that was really just a discussion that could have went nowhere, but instead it is most definitely going places.
